2008-09: Scored his first goal as an Ace in 6-3 win at Victoria Nov. 19. Scored twice in 6-0 shutout vs. Bakersfield Dec. 6. Scored at 2:16 of OT to beat Stockton 3-2 Dec. 31. Scored the game-tying goal and had two fighting majors to spark 5-3 win vs. Victoria Jan. 16. Scored power play goal, the eventual game-winner, in 5-3 victory at Vegas March 24. Scored twice in the third period, including the game-winner, in 3-1 win at Phoenix March 28. Scored twice in 8-2 rout of Victoria in Game 2 of the West Finals April 25. Scored game-tying goal in eventual 5-2 win at Victoria April 29. Scored in each of the first two games of the Kelly Cup Finals. Burt signed with the Aces in late July 2008 after establishing new career-highs in assists (33) and points (60) while leading Utah to the 2008 National Conference Finals. He scored twice in a 5-4 shootout win at Alaska 12/ 28/08, including the game-tying goal with two seconds left in regulation. After scoring 41 goals in his final year in juniors (1997-98), Burt played two seasons in the ECHL before joining Idaho in 2000 and helping the club reach the Taylor Cup Finals in the WCHL that year. Three years later, Burt scored twice and assisted on two other goals as the Steelheads won the 2004 Kelly Cup. In 2007, he scored the game-winning goal shorthanded in the third period to beat the Aces 3-2 in Game Five of the conference finals. Scott finished the postseason with three goals and five assists in 22 games as Idaho rolled to its second ECHL title. Only once in his 12 years as a pro (Wheeling) has Burt played on a club that failed to advance to postseason play.
