Lamoureux led the University of North Dakota to the 2008 Frozen Four after being named Most Outstanding Player at the Midwest Regional with 38 saves in a 5-1 win over Princeton and a season-high 41 in a 3-2 overtime squeaker against Wisconsin. He earned second team all-WCHA honors and lost just one of his last 20 regular season starts. During that stretch, he allowed just one goal or shut out the opponent an amazing 15 times. Lamoureux finished the season with six shutouts and a school-record .932 save percentage. He won the WCHA goaltending championship with a 1.74 GAA and became the first player in conference history to start the season with four shutouts in his first five games, blanking traditional powerhouses Michigan State and eventual national champion Boston College. Lamoureux wrapped up his collegiate career second all-time in North Dakota history with a 2.14 GAA and .920 save percentage. He started a school-record 55 games in a row over his junior and senior seasons, the second-longest streak in WCHA history and the third-longest in NCAA history. His lifetime record of 60-38-10 at the school included a 48-23-8 mark over his last two seasons. As a junior, Lamoureux earned all-tournament honors at both the WCHA Final Five and the NCAA West Regional, when he led the Sioux to the Frozen Four with 27 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over Minnesota in the regional final. His Sullivan Arena highlight came the year before, when he recorded the first of his 10 career shutouts with 23 saves in a 5-0 whitewash of UAA on January 7, 2006. Prior to enrolling at North Dakota, Lamoureux played three years in the USHL for the Lincoln Stars, finishing 64-38-8 with a 2.46 GAA and a .917 save percentage.
